Implementation Process

Additional support documentation is created as the “Rough-In” and “Pre-Wire” phases commence.  As the home’s build-out is progressing, we continue to integrate with your team in coordinating these phases.  It’s crucial we’re on-schedule with all phases leading up to this point so that the process continues smoothly.  The “Rough-In” and “Pre-Wire” phases should be planned and completed prior to drywall installation.

Following the “Rough-In” and “Pre-Wire” phases, and once the home’s  interior is primed, we begin the “Trim” phase.  This includes  ordering any remaining system gear, final equipment rack commissioning, scheduling its installation while programming the systems software code.  These phases can take a few weeks or a few years depending on the project’s scale.

1. AVX Internal Preparation

  • Review technical, lighting and power documentation
  • Create procurement reports
  • Generate installation checklist

2. Materials Procurement

  • Initial – rough-in/pre-wire materials (wires, conduit, back-boxes, mounts, etc.)
  • Intermediate – infrastructure equipment (equipment rack and components to be integrated)
  • Final – local equipment, room-specific devices (displays, touchscreens, keypads, etc.)

3. Rough-In Phase – Installation of devices that will support the future electronics:

  • In-Wall Low-Voltage Enclosures
  • In-Wall Lighting Control Enclosures
  • Television back-boxes
  • All Necessary Conduits
  • Structural reinforcements for any excessive load bearing requirements
  • Pre-Construction Brackets:
    • In-Ceiling Speakers
    • Touchscreens
    • Keypads

4. Pre-Wire Phase – Running cables throughout the home to support the following systems

  • Telephone
  • Cable / Satellite TV
  • Data / Network
  • Control & Automation Systems
  • Home Theater Speakers
  • Multi-Room Music Speakers
  • Motorized Shades
  • Lighting Control Keypads
  • Climate Control Devices
  • Security Alarm Systems
  • Surveillance Camera Systems

5. Trim PhaseInstallation of the electronic equipment:

  • Video Displays
  • Speakers
  • Touchscreens
  • Keypads
  • Equipment Rack(s)
  • Motorized Shades
  • Remote Temperature Sensors
  • Wireless Access Points
  • Gateways for Control & Automation Systems
  • Motion Detectors / Glass-Break Sensors
